The Nigeria Serious and Organised Crime Programme works across four states of Nigeria (Bayelsa, Lagos, Edo, Zamfara) heavily captured by serious criminal gangs linked to global flows of money, narcotics and people – with both local conflict consequences and the risk of serious damage to international economies and societies around the world.

With our support, Nigerian partners have established State Crime Prevention Steering Committees to coordinate a network of local Crime Prevention Partnerships (CPPs). The CPP network has designed and delivered dozens of local interventions targeting at-risk youth and providing them with alternative life pathways that permanently divert them from involvement in serious crime. The Nigerian National Police Force is now incorporating preventative approaches into its operational posture and training, while the Brighter Futures public information campaign has reached over 11 million citizens in vulnerable areas

In a world in which serious criminals are networked and organised crime operates without regard for national borders, TAG’s counter-SOC programming is delivering real-world benefits to vulnerable communities while at the same time helping to protect global financial and rule of law systems from exploitation and harm.
